Are you a Black person who wants to talk about the history of slavery or even the effects it still has to this very day? Well then, you’ve heard this phrase, “Get over it.”
Are you someone who needs to make a point about eating meat but just can’t figure out how to do it? Try slavery! It’s perfectly acceptable to use a horrific time in history and compare it to something, anything else.
Slavery, it’s only wrong to talk about it if you’re Black.
Do they not realize that this sort of comparison *is* violence? It’s appropriation and it’s blatantly incorrect. While there are animals suffering*, animals have no conception of bondage. Slavery is a term used to mean humans. It cannot even apply. And in a world where there are still people held in slavery, this is just even more disgusting.
*Though not in these pictures for some reason.
